University of Groningen Workshop on Causal Inference + Machine Learning

2-3 September, 2024

We are delighted to announce the inaugural workshop on Causal Inference and Machine Learning, scheduled to take place at the University of Groningen in The Netherlands. This workshop aims to bridge the gap between cutting-edge methodologies in machine learning and causal inference, integrating classical IV/GMM techniques from econometrics into complex data scenarios. We will explore both theoretical insights and practical applications, with a particular emphasis on fields such as health and labor economics. Submissions from interested participants are warmly welcomed.

To present at the workshop, kindly submit your paper to t.boot@rug.nl by June 15, 2024. Notification of submission outcomes will be sent before July 1.

The registration fee is set at 150 EUR, which includes the conference dinner on Monday and an informal dinner on Tuesday. Additionally, we will be organizing a city tour of Groningen, offering participants a glimpse into the unique historical charm of this northern Dutch city.
